Find Duplicates in Two Lists
This page lists only the items that appear in both lists. For lines that are only in one list, and for the combined unique list, use the compare two lists tool. To clean repeats inside a single list, use remove duplicates from one list.
One item per line. Spaces at the start and end are removed. Blank lines are skipped. Each shared item is listed once.
Tips for accurate matching
- Put one item per line. If your data is comma-separated, the main compare two lists tool can split by comma, tab, or semicolon.
- Extra spaces at the ends are trimmed. Hidden characters from PDFs can still stop a match, so paste into a plain text editor first if a result looks wrong.
- Ignore case treats ben and Ben as the same item and keeps the spelling from List A.
Examples
Find which invited guests already replied, which products are on both supplier price lists, or which students appear on two class rosters.
